Everyone has a responsibility to maintain and take care of information, but in our everyday jobs, let’s be honest, we are handling masses of it!
We therefore, need to identify how to treat these different types and keep ourselves within the law. Information Governance is a set of guidelines for health and social care organisations to ensure staff use patient, staff and corporate information in the most appropriate way.
This e-learning course on Information Governance is a bespoke design for The Horder Centre. It serves as a good introduction to the subject and helps to raise general staff awareness.
The programme aims to help users gain a good understanding of Information Governance, identify different types of information and understand the need for confidentiality. We take a closer look at the legal implications of Information Governance, outline how to identify where data confidentiality has been breached and highlight the need for consent. Finally, we demonstrate best practice for information security, explain how to implement good records management and highlight the tips for maintaining Information Governance within a social environment.
